Online pre-registration is required for Dream It, Be It Career Support for Girls hosted by local Soroptimist clubs on March 7, 2026.
TRI-CITIES, WA / February 1, 2026 – Soroptimist International of Three Rivers – Richland (SI3R) and Soroptimist International of Pasco-Kennewick (SIPK), part of the global women’s organization that improves the lives of local women and girls through social and economic empowerment, will host the seventh annual Dream It, Be It Career Support for Girls® event on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 8:30am to 2:30pm at the Byron Gjerde Center, Columbia Basin College, 2600 N 20th Ave., Pasco, WA.
Designed specifically for girls in grades 9 through 12, Dream It, Be It is a free program focused on career and education planning. Through mentoring, access to professional role models, dream-boarding, goal setting, and other activities, girls are encouraged to pursue educational training opportunities that enable them to get future jobs, earn income, care for their families, and participate in their communities. Skills developed through the curriculum can be applied to any goals the girls identify throughout their lives to pursue their dreams. Participating high school senior girls also have an opportunity to apply for scholarship, awarded later in the year. Snacks and lunch are provided. The event is funded with monetary support from each of the two local Soroptimist clubs.
Pre-registration is required. Applications are now open and free of charge. Interested girls must complete the online form by February 20, 2026 to secure a seat. Please email dibi.tri.cities@gmail.com with questions.
Teen Girls Benefit from Career Mentoring
Dream It, Be It is one of the Dream Programs of Soroptimist International of the Americas (SIA), which works to improve the lives of women and girls through education grants, campaigns against obstacles like sex trafficking and domestic violence, local community outreach, and more.
In 2025, 23,928 girls across 14 countries and territories participated in Dream It, Be It. SIA reports excellent results that lead to empowering girls to live their dreams:
90% of participants feel more confident about their future success
90% of participants created achievable goals for their futures
88% of participants feel more prepared to pursue their career goals
Locally in 2025, 65 girls who live in the Tri-Cities area participated in the event, hearing from 19 career panelists and facilitated by 43 volunteers from Soroptimist and Columbia Basin College. Response from the girls was overwhelmingly positive.
“Hearing professional women in different fields tell their stories was my favorite part of the day,” said one local attendee. “I learned it is okay to have obstacles and setbacks. Everyone does,” said another local girl. “We can overcome them.”
