Grab a friend and join our group walk Saturday, March 14

On Saturday, March 14, move for our mission and inspire local women and girls to reach their full potential, one step at a time.
Soroptimist is launching the third annual Walk for Women and SI3R is a part of it! It’s one of our favorite ways to raise awareness and the funds that empower women and girls through our programs.
The Walk for Women global initiative is a powerful way to:
Reach out and engage our community
Donate $$ to help uplift local women & girls through education & opportunity
Raise awareness of the Soroptimist mission & SI3R’s good works
Celebrate Women's History Month, including International Women's Day on March 8
Funds we raise support SI3R’s scholarships and programs that provide education and opportunity to local women and girls facing adversity.

As Soroptimists, we believe that women and girls gain the power to shape their futures when they have access to education. That’s why we walk - for every woman striving to achieve her dreams, for every girl envisioning a brighter future and for a world where gender equality isn’t just a goal, but a reality.
Since 1921, Soroptimist has been a force for change, investing in the education and empowerment of women and girls worldwide. Through our Dream programs, we provide critical resources that make a lasting global impact:
The Live Your Dream Education & Awards for Women have disbursed $49 million in education grants since 1972, helping women who are primary financial providers for their families. Each year, we award $3.4 million to more than 2,200 women, empowering them to achieve their goals. The results? Eighty-one percent of award recipients complete their education and improve their standard of living. Among those who are survivors of gender-based violence, 96% now live in a safe environment.
Dream It, Be It Career Support for Girls local events have helped 162,000 girls since 2015, providing mentorship, skills and encouragement to pursue their ambitions with confidence. Ninety percent of participants say they feel more confident about their future success after completing the program.
These statistics tell a powerful story - one of resilience, opportunity and transformation. Behind every number is a woman or girl whose life has changed because of the support she received. When we walk, we walk for her.

How SI3R Walk for Women Began
We launched our first-ever 5K Walk to benefit Mid-Columbia women and girls in 2024. It was a fun and fruitful success.
In 2025, we aligned with Soroptimist of the Americas’ (SIA) worldwide awareness and fundraising event, participating in Walk for Women during March and expanding it locally through April.
Soroptimist’s annual Walk for Women is a global initiative to empower women and girls through education and opportunity – and honor the strength and spirit of women everywhere! It’s not only a celebration but a special opportunity for clubs like ours to honor the strength and spirit of women everywhere.
Whether you join our group walk on March 14 or chose to walk on your own during the month of March, you can be part of a movement that creates lasting change.
