How Our Birthday Challenge Started
It all began in 2021 during the 100th Anniversary Celebration of Soroptimist ...
Our Soroptimist Sister Valerie wanted a special way to celebrate her 65th birthday and honor Soroptimist's 100th birthday in the process. So she pledged a $65 donation to the club and challenged all of us to do the same for our birthdays.
“I challenge my SI3R Sisters, as they are able, to make a donation in celebration of their birthdays throughout the year,” Val says. “Or why not ask your family and friends to donate on your behalf to our club in honor of your big day?”
It sounded like a great idea to us – and we’ve been taking Val up on her birthday challenge ever since.
