We provide opportunities
for Mid-Columbia women and girls so they are empowered
to shape their future.

President's Welcome

Welcome to Soroptimist International of Three Rivers - SI3R for short. After a very challenging time, I am glad to say that we are excited to be getting back to normal life while reimaging how we connect with each other, our community and the world at large.

Moving into whatever our new normal is post-pandemic, one thing is clear: Soroptimist International of the Americas, powered by clubs like ours, will continue our global reach by helping to inspire, empower and educate women and young girls everywhere.

As part of the SI federation, we share a mission, vision and core values that inspire us to bring to life initiatives that are important to our club and to the local community. This club year, I want to forge a great future for SI3R by further aligning our initiatives with these core values:

  • Gender Equality: Women and girls live free from discrimination.

  • Empowerment: Women and girls are free to act in their own best interest.

  • Education: Women and girls deserve to lead full and productive lives through access to education.

  • Diversity & Fellowship: Women from varied background and perspectives work together to improve the lives of women and girls.

After reviewing the overall mission, vision and core values, our board created four strategic goals that will guide our work locally for the next several years. For example, we embrace diversity and fellowship as a club. To further strengthen this core value, we want to explore opportunities to work with and support our women veterans. We are excited about the opportunities that lay ahead.

Join us in celebrating Soroptimist International’s 100th Anniversary &

the 20th Anniversary of SI3R

We also have so much to celebrate right now, from being able to see each other in person again to Soroptimist International’s 100th anniversary in October 2021. And in 2022, SI3R, will celebrate 20 years of providing opportunities for Mid-Columbia women and girls so they are empowered to shape their future.

What a time to be a member or to join our organization, learn about our local and global impacts and celebrate our collective achievements.

So, I personally invite you to learn more about SI3R, review our four strategic goals and join us for a meeting to get to know our fantastic members. We have a lot of work to accomplish and we would be thrilled and grateful to have you join our organization.

Here’s to a wonderful year ahead,

Mysti Meiers, SI3R President 2021-2022

About Soroptimist International of Three Rivers

2021-2022 Board Members

Soroptimist International of Three Rivers (SI3R) is a local club belonging to a worldwide volunteer organization that boasts more than 90,000 members in over 120 countries and territories. Our membership is comprised of women from Richland, WA and the surrounding area. We often work with our sister club, SIPK, whose membership includes women of the neighboring cities, Pasco and Kennewick.

The name Soroptimist means "best for women," and that's what we strive to be - an organization of women at their best, helping other women to be their best. As a volunteer organization of business and professional women, we feel uniquely qualified to help women and girls live their dreams. Our members are active in the Tri-Cities and many of them serve on the board or are members in several community-minded organizations. Their interests include but are not limited to: improving literacy, helping victims of domestic violence, advocating for environmental conservation, serving on anti-trafficking committees, fostering refugees, and volunteering through Rotary and Kiwanis.

Throughout history and still to this day, women throughout the world face obstacles solely because of their gender. They disproportionately suffer from poverty and discrimination. It is for this reason that Soroptimist International chooses to focus on the special challenges faced by women and girls.

Our signature programs, Live Your Dream and Dream It, Be It, seek to better the lives of women and girls through providing funding and education to those in need. To raise funds to support these programs, our club hosts two major annual fundraisers and we collect contributions from individual members. Donations from community members or organizations are also accepted. Each year, our finance committee allocates these funds to benefit mission-oriented projects as well as community-based needs. To learn more about our community projects, please visit our Projects page.

Our members are dedicated to our mission and have a genuine passion for empowering others. If you or anyone else that you know would like to join Soroptimist International of Three Rivers or donate to our causes, please visit our Join SI3R and Support SI3R pages.

Our members are all-stars and are often involved in multiple community oriented organizations. SI3R recognizes these clubs, initiatives, and organizations as community partners
